Notes The ASBS was a survey of small businesses, including micro-businesses, with a sample size of approximately 4k-7k firms. Recently, IFF Research, Belmana and Middlesex University carried out a project to link early waves of the survey to the BSD allowing for longitudinal analysis. Please also note that from 2016 a new longitudinal Small Business Survey with an increased sample size of about 15k is going to be conducted by BIS. The survey will trace the same businesses on an annual basis with replacement for attrition.
